How to download Instagram videos

The same three moves for videos, reels, stories, photos, and audio — on any device.

Copy the Instagram post link from the Share menu
01

Copy the link

In Instagram, open the post, tap Share, and choose Copy Link. On desktop, copy the URL from the address bar.

Paste the link into the download box
02

Paste the link

Open the matching tool page and paste the link into the download box.

Download the file in original quality
03

Download the file

Press Download. Video saves as MP4, photos as JPG, sound as an audio file.

If automatic download is blocked

Some reels — usually ones with licensed music — are only shown to logged-in viewers, so no anonymous tool can fetch them. The 1-click bookmark below runs inside your own Instagram session instead, and saves those too:

Save clip
  1. Drag the button above to your bookmarks bar.
  2. Open the Instagram reel or video (logged in, as usual).
  3. Click the bookmark — the file saves to your device.

Good to know

  • Public posts only. If a post needs a login to view, it cannot be downloaded. That is Instagram's privacy rule.
  • Stories are time-sensitive. Save them the same day — after 24 hours the original is gone.
  • Carousels need the post link, not a single-photo URL. One paste pulls every slide.
  • A failed lookup is usually temporary. Confirm the post opens while logged out, wait a minute, and retry.
  • Keep it fair. Personal offline copies are fine; credit creators when saved work goes public again.
